Sergei De Jonge is a Canadian luthier who has been crafting guitars since 1969. He apprenticed with Jean Larrivee at a time when he was making classical guitars and with Patt Lister. Within a couple of years he started constructing guitars under his own name and has become one of the most respected Luthiers in Canada as well as teacher and educator.
This 2003 7 string cutaway classical is a unique and special guitar. It is made with the finest ‘old growth Brazilian Rosewood which is 100 + years old, master grade German spruce , Mahogany neck and Ebony fret board. The attention to detail and craftsmanship on this instrument is extraordinary.
Condition Report:
The guitar has bright crisp trebles , a solid mid range and deep bass notes. It is very comfortable to play even though it has 7 strings.” The cutaway enables easy access to the higher notes. “
