August 2021 Newsletter
Exciting news - the biggest ever expansion of our classical & flamenco range, in the history of GuitarsOnline - and it's all finally arrived!
It’s been a tough few months across much of Australia, so I thought we’d bring a smile to our community of classical and flamenco guitar loving friends.
A common thread with so much of the feedback that you’ve given us, has been that you’ve used COVID lockdowns as an opportunity to return to the fold – to kick your skills up another level.
Some of you are experienced players, returning after many years away. Re-establishing your passion for playing.
Others of you have used the “quiet time” to both brush up on your technique and skills, and master some new pieces, or perfect some of your old favourites.
Whichever player you are – you’ve invested the time practicing and now you need an opportunity to really showcase your new skills!

|
So, what are we excited about this month?
So, (drumroll) – have we got some exciting news for you!

Our new António Pinto Carvalho range:
Antonio Pinto Carvalho Guitars – excellent value for money, high-quality European built, complete guitar range.
I am often asked for good entry level guitars at affordable prices. Especially, by parents looking for smaller ½, ¾, 7/8 and even full size. So I have landed a whole range of entry level guitars from Antonio Pinto starting from traditional workmanship and craft and big sound from a tiny $280.
In 1976 António Pinto de Carvalho founded the company “António Pinto Carvalho” and today, is a craftsman with more than 50 years of experience and one of the most well known Luthiers in Portugal.
Our new range includes entry-level student guitars, through to mid-range and advanced study models, including cut-away and flamenco models.

Our exciting new Prudencio Saez range
At GuitarsOnline we have known Prudencio Saez for many years.
He is the 3rd generation of artisans with a proud history of making fine Spanish guitars since 1963.
Prudencio Saez guitars are rich in tone and lively with a velvety tonal signature. As makers with their family name at stake they care about each guitar. They are small enough to do everything in the old artisanal way but large enough to field strong contenders across both the classical and flamenco world.
After many years of watching and testing the evolution of this maker GuitarsOnline have decided to commit to the range and import both their fan braced flamenco and classical models as well as their new Lattice models.
They are simply irresistible value and deliver great tone and projection

Rare and Exclusive Arrivals
Also at the high end of our new range are guitars from Angel Benito Aguado and the new Vicente Carrillo solid Cedar/ Indian Rosewood, plus more,
New Angel Benito Aguado models
We've now received several new Marizapalos guitars. Due to the popularity of these guitars, this will be our fourth order in six months!
Also new, are some of his new Estudio Palosanto in stunning Indian Rosewood., Estudio Ziricote and Estudio Sapeli

New Vicente Carrillo models
Coming from a family of broadly experienced guitar makers - Vicente Carrillo has managed to skilfully combine historical heritage with progress, also incorporating ideas and advice from renowned luthiers and internationally famous guitarists.
His New Generation of New Concept guitars, built with a ground-breaking internal system, are simply out of this world: power, clearness, timbre and balance like we have never seen before.
We are now stocking his modestly priced “India Estudio” models, which are top-of-the-line student/entry-level concert instruments in every way.
Materials are either spruce or cedar for the soundboard, Indian rosewood for the back and sides, ebony fingerboard, cedar neck and finished in a thin coat of very durable polyurethane. These guitars sound great and play extremely easily. All in, this represents a great value for the price.

Lattice and Double Top - New Arrivals
Over the years I have sold many fine examples from most Australian Lattice makers and I am still often asked for Lattice braced guitars since they are so popular here in Australia due to the power and projection they deliver in concert or exams.
However, good lattice guitars have typically ranged from $7,500 to $28,000, while cheaper lattice copies have lacked tone, colour and timbre and have been very disappointing, Until now!
The new models from Prudencio Saez and Vincente Carillo, are top-of-the-line student/entry-level concert instruments in every way. But at a price that represents incredible value.

Our new RC Strings Range
Developed and made in Spain by guitarist Jose Greco, Classics are what happens when a guitarist creates a string form the ground up. The outcome is a very balanced string set with basses and trebles complementing each other. Tone is clear and even - not too bright and not too dark. So, a perfect string for the guitarist enabling them to bring their own interpretation to the music without having to worry about compensating for the inherent bias of each string.
Another benefit of having a guitarist create your string for you is RC addresses the fact that most of us have better things to do than change strings all the time (such as actually playing!) so Royal Classics strings are treated with an extremely thin yet very durable antioxidant coating to promote long string life.
RC Strings have been popular in Spain for many years. A limited production line of "boutique" strings, they have been used by Tomatito, Oscar Herrero, Carlos Bonell, Eduardo Catemario and many other guitarists, both Flamenco and Classical.
All the sets are treated against oxidation, and have a strong, well-balanced tone that continues to sound "alive" for longer than most brands. Further, they are available in bass-only sets (which include an extra D string), and treble-only sets, allowing you to mix and match for a more personalised sound and feel.
Finally, they are also known for holding their tune faster than other makes of strings, a tremendous benefit especially in a performance setting.
RC strings are a result of true Spanish guitar players producing strings with a great feel, power, and lyricism.

At Guitarsonline we have a panel of guitar teachers and seasoned players that help us evaluate all guitars and thoroughly play and road test any new models we offer.
So we would like to thank Giuseppe Zangari from the Sydney Guitar School for taking the time to both evaluate and create demos for the Antonio Carvalho range.
His advice has been invaluable, more importantly he liked the demo models we sent up for evaluation so much he did not want to return them.
So if you are Sydney based and liked his demos give him a call!
