Andrea de Vitis - Introduction Lessons
Andrea de Vitis - Etude XVII (L. Brouwer)
In this masterclass, Andrea de Vitis shares technical and musical insights on Leo Brouwer’s Etude XVII. After a brief introduction and musical comparison to Bach’s Chaconne, de Vitis demonstrates proper left hand slurring technique and provides students with an exercise to help develop flexibility in the wrist. He continues by addressing a few of the etude’s musical elements, such as the melodic and harmonic implications that affect the overall dynamic scheme of the piece.
