About the Maker

This is a Juan Estruch  classical guitar, made sometime between 1960 (round, unsigned and unnumbered label) in Barcelona, Spain.  This was a small maker, and the guitar does look handmade. All solid wood and a nice rosette and bridge. The back and sides are cypress so it is a blanca, and all binding is wood.  All original, Easy to play & a very warm flamenco sound!

Estruch is one of the oldest still existing guitar workshops in Spain, started more than 130 years ago in Barcelona. Today it is a leading company with a number of very successful guitars in the collection, and a member of "El Gremio de Maestros Artesanos de la Guitarra Española" (The Guild of Master Builders of Spanish Guitars).
These hand-built guitars meet high quality requirements, due to the materials used and the craftsmanship and attention with which they are built.

It is very well set up and has a very flamenco action with a very ergonomic and comfortable neck which was unusual for the time. It is a very open and easy to play and represents superb value. With a Hardcase from 60s
