Concert description:

Chrystian Dozza is one of Brazil’s most famed compositional talents on the guitar. Hailed by Sergio Assad and Paulo Bellinati for his innovative and original compositions, Dozza is one of Brazil’s leading lights in contemporary guitar.

Chrystian Dozza will present an entire program dedicated to Brazilian guitar music of the last two centuries.

The concert will be divided in two parts. The first, an exciting mix of favourites by Villa Lobos; Garoto; Dilermando Reis; and Paulo Porto Alegre, who wrote and dedicated a new piece of music to Chrystian.

The second, featuring Chrystian’s guitar works (including new pieces!), which are influenced by his travels around the world. Recalling the sounds of the English Renaissance in ‘John Dowland, his Pavan’ to Brazilian dances in ‘Baião de Dois’ to progressive rock in ‘Broken Dance’, this will be a concert of colour and variety.

The program will give the audience an overview of the variety of Brazilian rhythms such as Choro, Bossa Nova, Samba and the Brazilian Waltz.

As usual, all MGF events feature free catering during intermission including complimentary beer and wine.

Tickets for this event are “Pay What You Like,” with limited spots available.
