This confluence of guitar duos from the Asia/Pacific region was born in 2016 when Slava & Leonard Grigoryan were invited to perform a series of concerts with Meng Su and Yameng Wang China’s Shandong province. The four guitarists felt an immediate musical connection. As established duos at the top of their field on the international stage with hectic touring schedules, it was not until August this year that they could reunite for an Australian tour.

The Grigoryan Brothers are well known to Australian audiences having received 4 ARIA Awards with a long history of performances at festivals, concert halls in all capital cities and regular performances throughout regional Australia.

Meng Su and Yameng Wang were born in the same city, met when they were studying guitar and subsequently formed the Beijing Guitar Duo. They have been based in the USA for a number of years. Both became students of Manuel Barrueco, who is regarded as one of the finest guitarists of the modern era. Mr Barrueco was so impressed by their abilities that they formed a trio that has toured extensively and recorded an album in 2014.

Together they showcase their truly unique guitar talents that have garnered global praise and acclaim, performing a program rich in culture, Australian, Chinese and European classical repertoire in the stunning surrounds and acoustic of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
